What is the Midvision Song Contest?
This contest is focused on nationally recognized songs or lesser-known gems—tracks that have made a significant impact in specific parts of the world, but not quite international success. To help define this, entries should have under 100 million streams on Spotify. These benchmarks help us keep the spotlight on music that fit the idea behind this contest. There are additional rules for songs that are new releases, but are by popular artists.
For those who want to highlight well known hits, we host a separate contest called Musivision in May. Both contests are important in celebrating the richness and diversity of music worldwide—we just aim to give each the right stage.
Midvision Entry Rules
A song must have under 100 million streams on Spotify.
However, if the song is a new release and has not reached this benchmark yet, it won’t be allowed to enter if…
- The artist of the song has over 10 million subscribers on YouTube
- The artist of the song has over 50 million monthly listeners on Spotify
If a song is not available on Spotify, the song must have 25 million or less views on YouTube.
Additionally, the song must not have been in the contest before. Please see the list of previously used songs here under the “Midvision” tab.
Voting Rules
- Each voter will get to award entries 12 points, 10 points, and 8-1 points.
- Each voter can only vote once.
- Each voter may NOT vote for their own entry in the Grand Final.
Generic Rules
- Do NOT mention which song you have entered until the vote for the Grand Final has closed.
- Do NOT beg people to vote for any of the songs you recommended for the contest. If someone does message you about who to vote, please take a screenshot and send the evidence to me (ItsRyanJambe) on Discord.
- If necessary, we will disqualify (DQ) a song if we feel any rules have been broken.
