Championships Rules
Participation
Participating in any Championship we hold is about having fun. There are some people who do take it very seriously and others who do try to cheat the system, so these rules are designed to help keep everyone on the same page and to accurately disqualify individuals or duos where necessary.
How do you participate?
To participate in any Championship, you must sign up when applications are open. Each applicant will be checked by myself or a trusted individual to ensure you are eligible to compete. Please keep in mind the following information when applying.
- You may only sign up with one account – for duos that is one each.
- You have a clean disciplinary record within the past 12 months in regards to bans from RATW and warnings/bans on the Jambe Games Discord server.
- A “clean record” means you haven’t received multiple warnings or bans within the past 12 months.
- Minor past issues may not disqualify you automatically
- Repeated rule breaks or anything deemed serious rule break may lead to disqualification.
- All eligibility is reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
- You have never been warned or banned about serious offences e.g. racism, strong hate speech about specific groups of people, inappropriate behavior and/or messages towards minors, and anything else ItsRyanJambe considers to be unacceptable.
- You are not currently banned from the RATW experience on Roblox or the Jambe Games Discord server.
- You are not an alt of another account that is banned from the RATW experience on Roblox or the Jambe Games Discord server. There must be sufficient evidence that confirms any account is an alt rather than suspicions.
All applicants will be manually reviewed, and eligibility is at the discretion of ItsRyanJambe or anyone appointed by ItsRyanJambe to review applicants.
Additional information for Duos
- Once you start competing in the qualifiers, you may not switch partners.
- If requested, we may allow an alt account you own to play if you happen to get banned from Roblox or you have had to change device during the qualifiers. This can take time to implement and any lost time will not be given back to you.
- You may not switch to an alt account during the grand final even if you are banned.
- If your teammate is disqualified for one reason or another and you have not started the qualifiers, we will allow you to source another teammate if you can find one.
Gameplay
The Rules
There are a few rules you should follow while competing in a Championship.
- Be respectful and kind to all participants and maintain good sportsmanship.
- Do not exploit or do any glitches e.g. increased speed, flying, teleporting, etc.
- Communicating with other teams is allowed. It must remain respectful. Strategic misinformation is allowed.
- Please also be kind and respectful to the entire team who help put this event together.
If you witness anybody breaking these rules, please get sufficient evidence, which must include the user’s username or the user’s avatar, and set it up in a support ticket on the Jambe Games Discord server.
Any disqualification decisions will be made at the discretion of ItsRyanJambe or a trusted moderation team. If you believe a decision was made in error, you may submit an appeal through a support ticket on the Jambe Games Discord.
Qualifier Stage
The qualifier stage is made up of several sets of 3 games to whittle down the number of participants to the Final 12. Everyone is encouraged to show up at the start time as this will give you the best chance of being able to complete 3 games with a higher number of other participants. We try our best to accommodate to as many time zones as possible, but the time for the event is advertised beforehand, so it is your choice whether you show up or not.
In each game, you earn points based on where you finish in the leg and how many of the legs you managed to survive in total. Participants who reach the final leg will each receive 5 bonus points. If you want to try and understand the formula, your final score for any game is based on this calculation: your points x (number of legs survived / number of legs in total).
Please keep in mind that any points you receive will only be updated on the leaderboard after that game has finished. There is a leaderboard available in the hub area with the most up-to-date points. Additionally, once a qualifier is over, the points will be updated on a viewable Google Sheet.
You do not need to wait for the game to finish before starting another one. Each participant may only compete in a maximum of 3 games.
There are no Non Eliminations, no penalty signs (pauses, rewinds, etc.), and no Double Elimination legs.
The Grand Final
Only the final 12 remaining participants will compete in the grand final. If there is a no show, the next participant on the qualifier leaderboard will be invited to participate in their place. The grand final is a standard game of Race Around The World.
Finalists will receive a direct message from ItsRyanJambe on Discord inviting them to choose a custom team name, team color that’s available in game, and an emote for a video introduction for the start of the live stream.
Some challenges may have been modified and/or completely changed and there are no Non-Eliminations, no penalty signs (pauses, rewinds, etc.), and no double eliminations. Any challenge changes will not have been tested by finalists beforehand.
Disconnects
Disconnecting is something that can happen from time to time. If you disconnect and have a teammate, you’ll be teleported back to them after the current leg ends. Your teammate must re-invite you to the team.
If you do not have a teammate (Solo Cup), you will be unable to rejoin the race and you will be eliminated in that leg. You will still receive the points you accumulated up to that point. You will not be allowed an additional game as compensation.
Bugs
If you get bugged during the game, please make sure to report what happened to ItsRyanJambe so we can improve future events. Unfortunately, we cannot offer a redo if the entire game is not bugged.
If the server bugs during the grand final, we will take note of the teams who are remaining, the legs that have already been completed, and the money each team has left. This will be coded so that, when the race restarts, all teams will have what they originally had. As the race was reset, all teams will depart at the same time from the starting line.
Crashes
If the entire server crashes once the race has started, please make a request to ItsRyanJambe and we can look at removing that game from your record. This only applies to the qualifier stage.
If the entire server crashes during the grand final, there will be a break so we can update the game to start from the leg we reached and to only include the teams that remained in the race. All money will be reset and all teams still in the race will depart from the starting line again.
Video/Stream Consent
The Grand Final is recorded and live streamed on YouTube. This will remain on YouTube after the competition is done. As such, if you are a finalist, you will be featured in a live stream/video.
Conclusion
The rules on this page can be updated at any time, so it is advised that you revisit the rules every time a new Championship is being held.
Finally, please remember that this is primarily supposed to be fun. The competition is designed to bring the RATW community together and for us all to play a game we’ve all enjoyed at one time or another.
