JGF: The Inferno

The Inferno is the 1st season of the Jambe Games Franchise (JGF). 21 Players, split into two teams, are heading to Acapulco, Mexico to compete in missions to try and win their team $10,000 for their prize fund. Teams will nominate two players from their team to the Inferno elimination challenge, but, before each Inferno, there’s an opportunity to win an immunity lifesaver. After all of this, each team selects one of the two nominees from the opposing team to go into The Inferno. The winner of The Inferno stays in the game and the loser goes home.

Ultimately, the team that wins the final challenge will win the season and the big $150,000 prize!

The season aired on October 21st, 2018 with the finale airing on December 2nd, 2018. Los Rojos (Brian, Christian, Dylan, Jacob, Jake, and Nolan) won the season.

The next season in the franchise is JGF: Capture.

Game Summary

Episode #1: Grope The Rope

In this episode, both teams competed in a challenge called “Grope The Rope”. Teams had to pull themselves along a rope from one building to another. The team with the best average time would win the challenge and $10,000 for their team’s bank account. Los Rojos won the challenge taking their total to $10,000.

At the Nomination Ceremony, it was revealed that Chili and Nick S received the most votes and were nominated on the Los Rojos team. For Los Azules, it was Lexey and Scott who were nominated.

Episode #2: Bookworm

In this episode, both teams competed in a challenge called “Bookworm”. Teams had to try and find the longest possible words on the puzzle board. The team with the highest total would win the challenge and $10,000 for their team’s bank account. The highest scoring players on each team would win the Aztec Life Saver. These players were Nick S (Los Rojos) and Ethan (Los Azules). Los Rojos were the winning team taking their total to $20,000.

Due to inactivity and being offline for several days, it was decided Scott would be removed from the game. This means The Inferno was cancelled for this episode.

Episode #3: Bombs Away

In this episode, the teams nominated two players on their team for The Inferno and the opposing team selected one of them for The Inferno. Los Rojos nominated Chili and Nick S, then Los Azules selected Nick S for The Inferno. Los Azules nominated Jae and Lexey, then Los Rojos selected Lexey for The Inferno.

Next, both teams competed in a challenge called “Bombs Away”. Teams had to try and eliminate the opposing team by bombing the shelters their players were hiding in. The team with the most members after 4 rounds would win $10,000 for their team bank account. Los Azules won the challenge. Los Azules won this challenge taking their total to $10,000.

In addition, the player on each team who bombed the most players would win the Aztec Life Saver. These players were Chili for Los Rojos and Lexey for Los Azules.

Episode #4: Chilli Counter

In this episode, Chili and Lexey made their decisions about using the Aztec Life Savers. Chili chose not to save Nick S, but Lexey saved themselves and chose Nick M as the replacement. This meant Nick S from Los Rojos would face Nick M from Los Azules in The Inferno this episode.

The Inferno was called “Chilli Counter”. The two players in The Inferno were presented with a large table with different kinds of chillies on it. They had to count the chillies in the correct order by writing down their color. The player who submitted the correct answer in the quickest time would win The Inferno.

Nick M won The Inferno and stayed in the game. Nick S lost the Inferno and was the 2nd player to be eliminated from the game.

Episode #5: Domino Effect

In this episode, the teams nominated two players on their team for The Inferno and the opposing team selected one of them for The Inferno. Los Rojos nominated Brian and Chili, then Los Azules selected Brian for The Inferno. Los Azules nominated Ethan and Jae, then Los Rojos selected Jae for The Inferno.

Next, both teams competed in a challenge called “Domino Effect”. Teams had to try and make the longest possible domino trail. The team with the longest domino trail would win $10,000 towards their team’s bank account. Los Rojos won this challenge taking their total to $30,000.

In addition, the player on each team who placed the most dominos would win the Aztec Life Saver. These players were Christian for Los Rojos and Jae for Los Azules.

Episode #6: Human Candelabra

In this episode, Christian and Jae made their decisions about using the Aztec Life Savers. Christian chose not to save Brian, but Jae saved themselves and chose Anthony as the replacement. This meant Brian from Los Rojos would face Anthony from Los Azules in The Inferno this episode.

The Inferno was called “Human Candelabra”. The two players in The Inferno had to hold up two candelabras for as long as possible. The player who lasted the longest would win The Inferno and stay in the game and the loser would be eliminated.

Brian won The Inferno and stayed in the game. Anthony lost the Inferno and was the 3rd player to be eliminated from the game.

Episode #7: Calculation Location

In this episode, the teams nominated two players on their team for The Inferno and the opposing team selected one of them for The Inferno. Los Rojos nominated Brian and Jacob, then Los Azules selected Jacob for The Inferno. Los Azules nominated Lexey and Liam, then Los Rojos selected Liam for The Inferno.

Next, both teams competed in a challenge called “Calculation Location”. Teams had to use a series of 4 digit numbers to locate their winning number as quickly as possible. The team with the fastest average time would win $10,000 towards their team’s bank account. Los Rojos won the challenge taking their total to $40,000.

In addition, the player on each team who completed the challenge in the fastest time would win the Aztec Life Saver. These players were Jacob for Los Rojos and Ethan for Los Azules.

Episode #8: On Key

In this episode, Jacob and Ethan made their decisions about using the Aztec Life Savers. Jacob saved themselves and chose Lorenzo as the replacement, but Ethan chose not to save Liam. This meant Lorenzo from Los Rojos would face Liam from Los Azules in The Inferno this episode.

The Inferno was called “On Key”. The two players in The Inferno had to sit at a piano and crack the code using the natural notes on the piano (A-G). The player who cracked the code in the fewest turns would win The Inferno and stay in the game and the loser would be eliminated.

Liam won The Inferno and stayed in the game. Lorenzo lost the Inferno and was the 4th player to be eliminated from the game.

Episode #9: Karma Chameleon

In this episode, the teams nominated two players on their team for The Inferno and the opposing team selected one of them for The Inferno. Los Rojos nominated Brian and Jacob, then Los Azules selected Brian for The Inferno. Los Azules nominated Brittany and Lexey, then Los Rojos selected Lexey for The Inferno.

Next, both teams competed in a challenge called “Karma Chameleon”. Teams had to find Tengaged users who had karma amounts that was as close to 2205 as possible. Teams also had to make sure they used 9 users with each user covering each of these color levels; yellow, orange, light green, dark green, blue, purple, red, brown and black. The team with the least penalty points would win $10,000 towards their team’s bank account. Los Rojos won the challenge taking their total to $50,000.

In addition, the player on each team who submitted a list with the least penalty points first would win the Aztec Life Saver. These players were Christian for Los Rojos and Ethan for Los Azules.

Episode #10: Cryptic Conundrum

In this episode, Christian and Ethan made their decisions about using the Aztec Life Savers. Christian chose not to save Brian and Ethan chose not to save Lexey. This meant Brian from Los Rojos would face Lexey from Los Azules in The Inferno this episode.

The Inferno was called “Cryptic Conundrum”. The two players in The Inferno had to solve and decode a cryptic code to work out the word puzzle. The player who correctly worked out the message the quickest would win The Inferno and stay in the game and the loser would be eliminated.

Brian won The Inferno and stayed in the game. Lexey lost the Inferno and was the 5th player to be eliminated from the game.

Episode #11: The Classic Puzzle

In this episode, the teams nominated two players on their team for The Inferno and the opposing team selected one of them for The Inferno. Los Rojos nominated Chili and Jabbar, then Los Azules selected Jabbar for The Inferno. Los Azules nominated Hufus and Jae, then Los Rojos selected Hufus for The Inferno.

Next, both teams competed in a challenge called “The Classic Puzzle”. Teams had to complete a 99 piece jigsaw puzzle as fast as possible. The team with the fastest average time would win $10,000 towards their team’s bank account. Los Azules won the challenge taking their total to $20,000.

In addition, the player on each team who had the fastest time would win the Aztec Life Saver. These players were Christian for Los Rojos and Ethan for Los Azules.

Episode #12: Wallpaper

In this episode, Christian and Ethan made their decisions about using the Aztec Life Savers. Christian chose not to save Jabbar and Ethan chose not to save Hufus. This meant Jabbar from Los Rojos would face Hufus from Los Azules in The Inferno this episode.

The Inferno was called “Wallpaper”. The two players in The Inferno had to solve an image puzzle. The image was cut into 8 strips and mixed up. The players had to organise the 8 strips into the correct order to form the original image. The player who correctly solved the puzzle the quickest would win The Inferno and stay in the game and the loser would be eliminated.

Hufus won The Inferno and stayed in the game. Jabbar lost the Inferno and was the 6th player to be eliminated from the game.

Episode #13: Ping Pong

In this episode, the teams nominated two players on their team for The Inferno and the opposing team selected one of them for The Inferno. Los Rojos nominated Brian and Nolan, then Los Azules selected Nolan for The Inferno. Los Azules nominated Brittany and Nick M, then Los Rojos selected Brittany for The Inferno.

Next, both teams competed in a challenge called “Ping Pong”. Teams had to hit a ping pong ball over to the other team. If the opposing team did not hit the ball back again within 10 minutes, then the hitters would score a point. The team with the most points would win $10,000 towards their team’s bank account. Los Azules won the challenge taking their total to $30,000.

In addition, the player on each team who scored the most points would win the Aztec Life Saver. These players were Nolan for Los Rojos and Liam for Los Azules.

Episode #14: Tile Trouble

In this episode, Nolan and Liam made their decisions about using the Aztec Life Savers. Nolan chose to save themselves and sacrifice Dylan to The Inferno while Liam chose not to save Brittany. This meant Dylan from Los Rojos would face Brittany from Los Azules in The Inferno this episode.

The Inferno was called “Tile Trouble”. The two players in The Inferno had to fit 16 puzzle pieces onto a 4×4 grid. All the sides had to be touching the same color i.e. a red side had to touch another red side. The player who correctly solved the puzzle the quickest would win The Inferno and stay in the game and the loser would be eliminated.

Dylan won The Inferno and stayed in the game. Brittany lost the Inferno and was the 7th player to be eliminated from the game.

Episode #15: Laser Tag

In this episode, the teams nominated two players on their team for The Inferno and the opposing team selected one of them for The Inferno. Los Rojos nominated Brian and Chili, then Los Azules selected Brian for The Inferno. Los Azules nominated Ethan and Hufus, then Los Rojos selected Hufus for The Inferno.

Next, both teams competed in a challenge called “Intercept”. Teams had to get other Tengaged users to tag themselves onto a blog. However, teams were able to steal one of the color levels from the opposing team if they did not protect it. The opposing team simply had to post “Intercepts” before the team protected those points.  The team with the most points would win $10,000 towards their team’s bank account. Los Rojos won the challenge taking their total to $60,000.

In addition, the player on each team who scored the most points would win the Aztec Life Saver. These players were Brian for Los Rojos and Ethan for Los Azules.

Episode #16: Colored Numbers

In this episode, Brian and Ethan made their decisions about using the Aztec Life Savers. Brian chose to save themselves and sacrifice Chili to The Inferno while Ethan chose not to save Hufus. This meant Chili from Los Rojos would face Hufus from Los Azules in The Inferno this episode.

The Inferno was called “Spectrum”. The two players in The Inferno had to count how many squares of each color there was. Once they worked that out, they had to use those numbers to find the correct code to finish the challenge. The player who finished the quickest would win The Inferno and stay in the game and the loser would be eliminated.

Hufus won The Inferno and stayed in the game. Chili lost the Inferno and was the 8th player to be eliminated from the game.

Episode #17: Lost In Translation

In this episode, the teams nominated two players on their team for The Inferno and the opposing team selected one of them for The Inferno. Los Rojos nominated Dylan and Nolan, then Los Azules selected Dylan for The Inferno. Los Azules nominated Jae and Liam, then Los Rojos selected Jae for The Inferno.

Next, both teams competed in a challenge called “Lost In Translation”. Teams had to work out a phrase using the numbers provided. In this challenge, A = 1, B = 2, C = 3, and so on. The team with the fastest average time would win $10,000 towards their team’s bank account. Los Rojos won the challenge taking their total to $70,000.

In addition, the player on each team who scored the most points would win the Aztec Life Saver. These players were Jacob for Los Rojos and JT for Los Azules.

Episode #18: Voweless

In this episode, Jacob and JT made their decisions about using the Aztec Life Savers. Jacob chose to save not to save Dylan and Ethan chose not to save Jae. This meant Dylan from Los Rojos would face Jae from Los Azules in The Inferno this episode.

The Inferno was called “Voweless”. The two players in The Inferno had to work out a phrase which was written without any vowels. Players had to insert the vowels to work out the correct phrase. The player who solved the phrase the quickest would win The Inferno and stay in the game and the loser would be eliminated.

Dylan won The Inferno and stayed in the game. Jae lost the Inferno and was the 9th player to be eliminated from the game.

Episode #19: The Eleventh Hour

In this episode, the teams faced a double elimination round where two players would be eliminated. As always, the teams nominated two players on each team to face The Inferno. Los Rojos nominated Hufus and JT on Los Azules while Los Azules nominated Brian and Nolan on Los Rojos.

The final Aztec Lifesaver challenge put players up against real time. Players had to try and press their button at different target times. The closer they were to the target time, the more points they received. If they missed the target time by even 1 second, they would score 0 points for that time. The team who score the most points win the challenge and add $10,000 to their bank account. In addition, the player on each team with the highest score would win the Aztec Lifesaver. Los Rojos won the challenge taking their total to $80,000.

Jacob won the Aztec Lifesaver on Los Rojos and chose not to save Brian or Nolan.  JT won the Aztec Lifesaver on Los Azules and saved themselves. They selected Nick M as their replacement.

The final Inferno challenge was called “Combolate”. The players were given 4 statements and had to select the two statements that had answers which solved the equation provided. Each statement equalled a number. The player in each Inferno match-up who finishes in the quickest time would be safe and remain in the game. The loser from each match would be eliminated from The Inferno for good.

Brian and Nolan, both from Los Rojos, survived meaning Hufus and Nick M, both from Los Azules, were the 10th and 11th players eliminated from the game respectively.

Episode #20 – The Finale

In this episode, the remaining members of Los Rojos and Los Azules went head to head in one final challenge to determine the winners of The Inferno and the $150,000 for their team bank account. The final challenge had 5 stages:

  1. Time Difference
    In this stage, teams had to work out the time difference between two clocks and use it to find a password on a grid provided. The correct password would unlock the next stage.
  2. Wordinates
    In this stage, teams had to search a word search puzzle for an 8-letter word. Teams were not told what the word was, so they had to try and work it out. The word teams had to find was “Password” and the co-ordinates of the starting letter, P, was the password to unlock the next stage.
  3. The Unique Challenge
    In this stage, teams had to search a grid of emojis for the ONE emoji that was used once. Once they found the correct emoji, they had to use its grid reference as the password to unlock the next stage.
  4. Dot Dot Dash
    In this stage, teams had to translate words that were written in morse code. Once all the words had been translated correctly, they had to re-arrange them to form a phrase. If they typed in the correct phrase as their password, they would unlock the final stage.
  5. Crossword
    In this final stage, teams had to complete a crossword puzzle. By using the clues, teams had to work out what the answers were and where to put them. Once teams completed the crossword puzzle, they finished the final challenge and their time would be recorded.

It was a tough final challenge, but, it was Los Rojos who came out on top and won the challenge and the $150,000. Each member of their team took home $38,333. Los Azules were the runner-ups and took home $7,500 each.
