JGF: Capture

Capture is the 2nd season of the Jambe Games Franchise (JGF). 12 Teams of 2 will be taken to a 4,000-acre wilderness area in California called The Arena where they will participate in Hunts to try and eliminate the other teams. One team will be selected as The Hunt team and the rest of the teams will be The Prey. The Hunt team will need to try and catch two prey teams. The teams they catch will be nominated for elimination and the teams who do not get caught will vote one of the capture teams out. If the vote is a tie, The Hunt team will have the tie-breaker vote.

Ultimately, the team that wins the final Hunt will win the season and the big $100,000 prize!

The season aired on December 11th, 2018 with the finale airing on January 7th, 2019. Yellow Team (Jacob and Nolan) won the season.

Game Summary

Episode #1 – Run For The Money

All the teams gathered in the village and met for the first time, then the first Hunt team was selected. It was revealed that White, Issy & Josh, were selected as The Hunt team.

The Hunt challenge for this episode was called “Ka-Ching!”. Teams had to correctly work out the amount of change they would have to give to a customer. For every puzzle a team solved correctly, they would get further away from The Hunt team.

During The Hunt, Issy & Josh took off and quickly got within capturing distance of Teal and Blue. Issy & Josh managed to capture both Teal and Blue meaning these teams were nominated for the vote off.

At the vote off, Teal received 6 votes and Blue received only 1 meaning Teal, Jae & X, were the first team to be eliminated from Capture.

Episode #2 – Go Big Or Go Home

All the teams gathered in the village to find out who would be selected as the next Hunt Team. It was revealed that Purple, Jay & Tim, were selected as The Hunt team.

The Hunt challenge for this episode was called “Bigger Is Better”. Teams had to correctly write the name of the color that covered the most area of a shape. For every puzzle a team solved correctly, they would get further away from The Hunt team.

Prior to The Hunt commencing, Connor & Jabbar chose to quit the game. During The Hunt, Blue and Gold were caught by The Hunt team, however, the Blue Team were removed from the game. This cancelled the vote for this episode.

Episode #3 – Sizing Up The Competition

All the teams gathered in the village to find out who would be selected as the next Hunt Team. It was revealed that Green, Nick & James, were selected as The Hunt team.

The Hunt challenge for this episode was called “Size Matters”. Teams had to find words that were suitable for the category given, but, their answer had to match the number of letters requested. For every puzzle a team solved correctly, they would get further away from The Hunt team.

During The Hunt, Gold managed to get an advantage (food) from the Supply Station and gained 3 extra steps away from The Hunt team. Red were close to being captured, but, ultimately, the Hunt Team, Nick & James, failed to catch any teams and were the fourth team eliminated from Capture.

Episode #4 – Name Your Poison

All the teams gathered in the village to find out who would be selected as the next Hunt Team. It was revealed that Black, Jack & Sam, were selected as The Hunt team.

The Hunt challenge for this episode was called “Name Game”. Teams were shown a name and a category. Teams had to use the letters from the name to create a word suitable for the category provided. For every puzzle a team solved correctly, they would get further away from The Hunt team.

During The Hunt, a team chose to use the Sabotage, Cable, from the Supply Station to force two teams to be tied together. The two teams tied together were Red and Purple. In the end, Black chose to capture both of these teams, therefore, Red and Purple were nominated for the vote off.

However, before the votes were cast, Purple chose to quit the game and were eliminated from Capture. As a result, the vote was cancelled for this episode.

Episode #5 – Go Out With A Bang

All the teams gathered in the village to find out who would be selected as the next Hunt Team. It was revealed that White, Issy & Josh, were selected as The Hunt team for their second time.

The Hunt challenge for this episode was called “Bomb Defusal”. Teams were shown a bomb with wires and had to use a Venn diagram to determine which wires they needed to cut. For every puzzle a team solved correctly, they would get further away from The Hunt team.

During The Hunt, a team chose to use the Sabotage, Elevation Mask, from the Supply Station to force a team to lose 2 steps. The team who were given the Elevation Mask were Black. In the end, Black and Red were caught by White, therefore, they were nominated for the vote off.

At the vote off, Black received 3 votes and Red received only 1 meaning Black, Jack & Sam, were the sixth team to be eliminated from Capture.

Episode #6 – The Winning Formula

All the teams gathered in the village to find out who would be selected as the next Hunt Team. It was revealed that Red, Dylan & Kyle, were selected as The Hunt team.

The Hunt challenge for this episode was called “Fully Formulate”. Teams were shown a formula, but, had some empty spaces for them to fill with other numbers. They had to get the formula to equal the target number provided. For every puzzle a team solved correctly, they would get further away from The Hunt team.

During The Hunt, a team chose to use the Sabotage, Cable, from the Supply Station. This tied two teams together meaning they would finish on the same spot, which was whoever scored the lowest in the challenge. The two teams tied together were Gold and Grey. In the end, Gold and Lime were caught by Red, therefore, they were nominated for the vote off.

At the vote off, Gold received 2 votes and Lime received only 1 meaning Gold, Christian & Ethan, were the seventh team to be eliminated from Capture.

Episode #7 – Get Into Shape

All the teams gathered in the village to find out who would be selected as the next Hunt Team. It was revealed that Yellow, Jacob & Nolan, were selected as The Hunt team.

The Hunt challenge for this episode was called “Shape Shifters”. Teams were shown a grid with 9 tiles. Each tile had a shape, a shape color, and a tile color. Teams had to correctly identify three tiles that correctly formed a set. For every puzzle a team solved correctly, they would get further away from The Hunt team.

During The Hunt, a team chose to use the Sabotage, Containment, from the Supply Station. This forced a team from being able to pass 12 correct answers. It was Grey who was Sabotaged. In the end, Grey and Red were caught by Yellow, therefore, they were nominated for the vote off.

At the vote off, Grey received 2 votes and Red received none meaning Grey, Mearl & Stoner, were the eighth team to be eliminated from Capture.

Episode #8 – Straight To The Point

All the teams gathered in the village to find out who would be selected as the next Hunt Team. It was revealed that Red, Dylan & Kyle, were selected as The Hunt team.

The Hunt challenge for this episode was called “Who Knows Where?”. Teams were shown a world map with a grid. Teams were given a city to find on the world map and must provide the grid reference of where the city is on it. For every puzzle a team solved correctly, they would get further away from The Hunt team.

During The Hunt, a team chose to use the Looking Glass from the Supply Station. This allowed them to reveal the location of one team. It was White’s location that was revealed. In the end, Grey and Lime were caught by Red, therefore, they were nominated for the vote off.

At the vote off, White received the 1 vote, so, Issy & Josh, were the ninth team to be eliminated from Capture.

Episode #9 – Read Between The Dashes

All the teams gathered in the village to find out who would be selected as the next Hunt Team. It was revealed that Yellow, Jacob & Nolan, were selected as The Hunt team.

The Hunt challenge for this episode was called “Dot Dot Dash”. Teams were shown a word written in Morse Code. The teams had to translate the word into English, however, the spacing between each letter had been removed. For every puzzle a team solved correctly, they would get further away from The Hunt team.

During The Hunt, Yellow managed to catch Lime and Red meaning they had the sole vote at the vote off.

At the vote off, Lime received the 1 vote, so, Chili & Liam, were the tenth team to be eliminated from Capture.

Episode #10 – The Final Smash

For the final, both teams would alternate between being The Hunt team and The Prey team. Red were chosen to start as The Hunt team. When teams were The Prey, they had to answer a puzzle correctly to stop being The Prey and switch to The Hunt. The first team to catch the opposing team would win the game.

The Hunt challenge for this episode was called “Answer Smash”. Teams were given a picture of a color and a clue to a word. The teams had to work out the color and what word the clue was asking for then smash the words together to form one answer. For every puzzle a team solved correctly, they would get further away from The Hunt team.

During The Hunt, it was Yellow who managed to catch Red first, therefore, Yellow were crowned the winners of Capture!
